Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival is an event that highlights the creativity and innovative spirit of RIT students, faculty, and staff. I strived to design an eye-catching poster that captured the imaginative and inventive values of the convention. I found it important to include every department featured to properly represent the event. Finally, I wanted to create a busy visual design that kept a viewer’s interest.
I had the instant idea to create a amusement park environment to portray the fun and excitement about innovation as well as the technical thinking behind it. Except, I pushed the concept further, deciding to have the common theme park rides made out of everyday and representative objects. As a fan of clutter in design, I enjoyed adding details to the poster that viewers can recognize the longer they stay to look. For a final touch, I added a subtle glow to the illustration to complete a bright and vivid piece.
